Arrived In Dublin July 01 2010

Arrived in Dublin and toured Kilmainham Gaol, (Jail) were many irish were held for their part in the many uprisings against England.

It is an amazing piece of Irish History.

Some of the things I have seen over the past three days were major eye-opening experiences. I am not sure how they will translate into paintings without seeming cliche.  That is my challenge.

This is a painting I have been working on for a couple of days. It is of an older gentleman we met in the Aran Islands. We were on Inismore, it is 10 miles by 2 miles. This gentleman was in his eighties and has only left the Island twice! He was a very interesting fellow.

Coming home tomorrow and I am very excited to see my family but wish I had more time here. Because of missed and  canceled and flights I did not have a chance to go to where my ancestors are from in Ballyheigue, Kerry.

That only means I have to go back. I thought it would be great to come with a bunch of artists.....Anyone interested?

Have a great 4th of July Weekend!
